The Red Dress Couture Ball production team is a group of young, passionate students, studying a variety of academic disciplines at the University of Oxford. These unique individuals are unified not only by their love of learning, but further, by their strong sense of social responsibility. They are unified in their desire to improve the lives of those less fortunate and they are committed to extending the gift of education to those most in need. Inspired by this commitment, the team has come together to organise this one of a kind, three part event. Grounded by its mission to raise funds and awareness for the two charities, the proceeds will go entirely to the children to whom they want to give a voice.
The Red Dress Couture Ball production team is partnered with The Aloysius Society – an established group of students at the University of Oxford who too have come together to make a positive difference in the lives of impoverished children. The society host’s innovative events in support of worthwhile international children’s charities. Most recently The Aloysius Society (named after an inspirational sixteenth-century Italian Saint, Aloysius Gonzaga, who cared for young children at a young age himself) hosted The Sugarplum Ball in the autumn of 2009. The Ball was a resounding success and The Aloysius Society was able to raise more than £100,000 for an SOS Children’s Villagers project in Chipata, Zambia.
Strengthened by their respective resources, experiences, and passion, these two unique teams have joined together to host this remarkable evening. It will be in celebration of fashion, in honour of art, in respect of education, and as a tribute to the basic human identity which unifies us all.
